has stepped up and will Sponsor this event. Paperwork has just been submitted for this event. Thursday 12th Arrival and Departure Sunday 15th Encouraged, Discount Hotel Rooms, Free Casino Bucks, Ice, Electric, Water, Hot Showers & KCBS Judging Area in the Air Conditioned Sports Complex, BIG RIGS! No Problem! Easy In and Easy Out, RV Parking at cooksites. I figured you'd go to Jasper first week?? I Promise Your Gonna Love French Lick,, Plus the Staff and Chefs there are soo pumped about this event..I Gotta Admit I'm pretty excited about this also, the KCBS Great American BBQ Tour will be at Hoosier Daddy This Year Also,, I tried to get them to come to the French Lick Casino also,,, Maybe Next Year

Hey Skinny, I finally got signed up here. I love this site. I can't wait till August.

Me either Robbie, but you guys are already wearin me out. I'm gonna have to up my salary. :shock: :lol:

This is a gonna be a contest to remember guys. There is a ton of stuff to do just at the resort much less in the town of French Lick. IF you plan on attending and need any extra space requirements PLEASE let us know asap. :mrgreen:

Anybody into gokarts ?? They just opened a new indoor kart track up the street from the resort. Porky Chops we need to hit there next trip to French Lick. You think they got wide load rated carts ?? :shock: :lol:

Poor Phillip ,,,,We got bets going on how long it takes Kathy to find the Casino & how long it takes to win them new shoes. Hang in there buddy. :lol:

Hoosier Daddy has not been renewed yet. We are waiting on the commitee to allocate the date/funds.

Hey Guys, If lets say if a out of State Team Cooking in Jasper the Weekend before wanted to Park their Rig at the Resort to keep from pulling it all the home then back, would that be possible to leave somewhere secure??

Hot Racks this shouldn't be a problem because of the Amount space at the Resort, But that being said I'll check with French Lick Resort and get back with ya'll, If Not I know Skinny know of a Ranch just down the road that prob would let rig parking there and it's an easy in, and easy out deal too.. as I matter of Fact it would be a Awesome place for a Event Too!! Hummmmm,,hahahahaha As if I don't have enough to do now,,hahaha We'll get back with a Hot Racks

I'm sure that something can be worked out, especially if advance notice is given. I happen to know of some nearby property that would also work for this. I'll add it to my list of details for this week. One of us will post up on the info. :icon_cool

More than happy to take my chances on those odds....especially when plotting out the ratio for 1st's to 22'nds.....all I remember is something store bought.....but, that is ok...you still owe a brisket recipe after Hoosier Daddy....I remember someone saying something about how they would go ahead and dump the recipe if they won again in brisket

I may be able to talk the other "useless nut" into cooking it, since it is at a casino, and he came all the way to Mesquite, NV last year to spend a little time in the casino...taking their money for a change......but, I won't know about me being there until I find out what assignments they will be sending me on, or where I am scheduled to be....

Podge, Pineapple juice will be alot better than those ground up island coffee beans that have been run thru a rat then dipped in chocolate. I heard Pork Chop talkin bout somebody that was doin that ? Might have been Shigs ? I hear they are runnin scared from a redhead. :shocked: :-D

Yes K it is correct. THANKS for asking. Sorry for the problem.

The mail room was confused on where the mail was to go so we put "ATTN HEATHER FISCHER" on the end of the address. She is the asst director of marketing. The corrected address should work fine.

IF anybody else has had this happen, PLEASE let me know. We don't want mail problems. Thanks,

No vending on the food. The resort chefs have covered the vending & drinks. The menu is going to be very similar to the competition meats. The prices will be very affordable.

HOWEVER all teams are encouraged to sell their t-shirts, hats, ect. Hope they have some fatboy sizes. I need a new wardrobe.

BTW,,,the faster the entry fee arrives, the closer you are to the turn in area. Just a little benefit for an early entry fee. :clap2:

Well, i should have my entry fee sent in shortly, with the extra money from Liberty ( I was as shocked as anyone!) I can pay for Jeffersonville and use the money for Jeffersonville to pay for French Lick... Now i have to find a way to pay for Madison!

The seafood buffet also has Steak, Prime Rib, Fried Chix, and a few other non seafood items.

We have met with Facilities Mgmt and do have plans for cold water walk thru misters just in case it is hot. Hopefully we won't need them. Personally I think we need to put a dumptruck load of ice in the BIG pool they have for their guests. That should take care of any overheatings.

While I'm on the subject of guests,,,,I am trying to get an idea of how many rooms to block out for the contestants ?? The more rooms we need, the better the discount gang. Remember that cool pool,,,it's gonna be good come saturday night. :thumb:

Steve, we are working out those fine details and should have some solid info soon. I can insure you that the teams will be well taken care of with room rates and aminities and hospitality. I am the catering chef here at the resort and will be in and around the event from start to finish. I have to tell you that if you have not checked out our resort you need to. This place is a true gem.

NO !! NO extra charges for length. You might be further or closer to turn in to accomidate your certain requested needs. A long combined rig will most certainly be further away IF you want to keep all the rig on asphalt. IF you can have the cook trailer in grass then your original assigned space will be ok.

REMEMBER, the sooner you send in your entry fee, the closer to turn in you will be placed. Thanks ! :wink:

I was thinking about inviting the hubby to this comp to golf and stuff. Not so sure now. That sure would be an expensive weekend! I've witnessed his drinking skills.

WELLL I JUST called and talked to the folks about this. Got an email from the hotel. The room rates for the competitors have been cut in half ! THAT'S RIGHT,,,50% off for cook teams ! IF you have reservations, call back tonight to make sure that you recieve the team discounts. It will take them a few hours to get the discount code changed. OK gang, here's one that you just won't believe. I didn't when I was told. To my knowledge this has never been done at a KCBS event ? Somebody correct me if I'm wrong ?

Get this,,,,AFTER all the turn in's on Saturday, The French Lick Resort is going to wash/sanitize EVERY teams pots, stainless line pans, utensils, knives, & cutting boards. PLUS they will pick them up and deliver them back to every teams spot. NO KIDDING !!!! WOW,,, NO going home with dirty stuff to wash. Talk about bonus points with the wives ? :thumb:

I am SHOCKED at this !! Talk about caring about the teams ?

YES, there are 2 different hotels. The French Lick Resort (50% off room rates for teams), or the West Baden Hotel (20% off room rates for teams). The West Baden hotel is about 1/2 mile up the street. The French Lick hotel is roughly 200yds from the competition site.

I noticed the cook spaces are 15' x 30'. Not sure if I can make it right now anyways but our set up takes 20' x 20'. Could I pay extra & get another 5' width? I don't want to melt any of my neighbors stuff with the side firebox.:redface: Also if things don't work out for me to cook do you still need any judges? I still haven't wore that cool little cbj badge I got last winter.

We are so stoked on this contest. I blocked off one street just to hold two 50ft inflatable water slides. One of the girls in the hotel office says she is gonna get covered in Whipped Cream and slide down it Saturday afternoon. :clap2:
