I hadn't planned to Q this weekend but in a grocer's add I received yesterday, they have pork picnics for $0.69. I could deal with a 10# picnic for $7. But I might be going fishin'

Our butts are 87 cents a pound at the local grocery store. Wife just chewed my a$$ out for not buying any and freezing. Sale is good through next Tuesday, so I bet you can guess where I'll be going!
I'm very fortunate to have a wife that enjoys whatever hobby I have. She's always there in the midst of whatever I'm doing, asking questions, and learning. I wouldn't be surprised if by summer she'll be Q'n as much as me! I already have the 14 year old son hooked!! Remember, he finished the Thanksgiving ham up this year while I was at work. He really liked farking with the fire.

My wife thinks we're all farking nutz and we have like zero common interests. Should make for an interesting next 40 years.
Got the 11 year old daughter started on Q this summer. Showed her the character of the different types of wood, and how good they smell once you preheat the wood. Once you can identify these scents, you start picking it up in the Q while eating it. (especially the mulberry (we think) Phil gave us. Smelled like cotton candy)

Some sort of weird price war here in Houston - .48 per pound at Fiesta - large ones in the freezer
