Wife just called (she's vending today). The proprietor of a wildly popular St. Louis BBQ place stopped in this morning. He bought the burnt ends. Came back to leave his card and asked if we had interest in a contest sponsor in 2010.
I was weaning us off on contests in lieu of paying jobs, but this adds a new wrinkle. It also makes us feel pretty darn proud of what we do!!!!

Congratulations!
If you don't want to impact your paying-jobs schedule too much, arrange for it to be a "per-contest" sponsorship in areas where the sponsor might reasonably expect to draw customers.
It's always nice to see good work rewarded.

That makes good sense. We could do half a dozen in his local market area, and possibly hook up for some "shared vending" at a few St. Louis gigs. Hmmmmmmmm

Is he interested in you competing under his biz name?

I suspect so. Many details to discuss yet.

Don't dilute your own brand, Jeff.

I appreciate that Todd. We are who we are. I may be into a "hired gun" sorta thing if he justs wants a few trophies for his wall.

If the restaurant's image doesn't hurt your brand, it sounds like something you should be open to. If the restaurant's image doesn't match up to what you want your name associated with ... then that's something to think about.

If you want to start your own restaurant someday, why confuse people?
