Watching a Food TV show yesterday. It had been promo'd they were doing barbeque ribs. They simmered them 3-4 hours in canned beef broth and water before slopping a bottled sauce on them and throwing on the grill.

Buncha Amateurs! I suppose they got that straight out of the "Boiling....it ain't just for eggs anymore!" cookbook. I'll raise my can of Schaeffer to the ribs that "could have been".
McRib sandwiches on the house!!

What a sad, sad, subject. I have arguments here at work about the same thing. :(
One day... when the Brethren rule the world... we will not have to be put through that kind of misery!

I hear that brisket in an oven bag cooked at 200* in the oven overnight is to die for too.

If you had snow to the eves and put some Southern Flavor on the brisket and then cooked it slow in the bag it would at least be edible! :D
But boiling ribs--on a cooking show!! How very, very, totally, SAD!

Been in Cozumel eating ceviche, guacamole, shrimp and other delights! You're welcome on the sausage, but honestly it needs to be toned down a little :D Still using the hemmorhoid donut here. The next mornings after eating those are truly special moments
Funny thing is, my wife liked them too. We share the Preperation H!
And David, you are right; I've tasted both. Don't tell anyone but many years ago I boiled some ribs and finished them on the grill...and thought they tasted good  Funny how we learn by doing.
