Hi Friends,

Do I need to keep the inside of the firebox touched up also? My main concern is under the ashpan, I'm seeing a little brown already.

Thanks!

Don't paint the interior. It would give off bad fumes.

I would attempt to keep it seasoned by cleaning out ashes, and oiling with cooking oil.

And spray them farking hinges a few times each Q (veg oil or cook oil spray that is) so you don't end up with the farked up hinge broken off mod. (that loud ass click and pop when you open the lid)

Not to mention the smoke chamber door too. I will have to take a pic of mine. It's all farked up.

I'm going to have to get busy and paint the baby bandera's firebox...when we took 'er to N.Y. it got overheated for a few minutes and it blistered the paint on top.

Thanks for reminding about the hinges, gentlemen.

Don't paint it, just scrape the blistered stuff and spray it with vegie-oil. It gets really nice and shiny, and it doesn't rust that way.

I like anything that's easy.

Easier the better! Thnx,
