Local grocer had some beautiful looking angus chuck roasts on sale for $1.28. I had them cut one about 4 inches thick, about 7 pounds, hardly any bone in it. Gonna toss it in DP marinade tomorrow night and smoke Friday with a butt. Don't feel like driving 50 miles for brisket, and I'll bet this chuck roast will be just as good.

Is chuck eye roast the same as bottom round? If so, it will be awesome. Did your DP on about a 7#. Wrap at 165, up to 190. Cooler. Awesome

I have one in the freezer. Post results as I don't want a crock pot roast, as usuall.

No - chuck is the front shoulder area above the brisket. It's also known as blade roast. Bottom round comes from the rear of the cattle. See http://www.beef.org/documents/BME_MINI_handout.pdf
