Hail to the BIGDOG a pig candy master.

With out a doubt at the Royal I ate the best pig candy I’ve ever had.

The sweet and salty piggyness pulls you in and you fall in love with your toung and then the heat forces your tongue to smack the back of your neck and when you think you just can’t stand anymore you reach for another piece. This stuff gives you a hurt you just can’t stop loving.

Thanks Big Dog for the awesome American Royal treat.

He did. Both we're great but that pig candy was perfect. I could have eaten a bag of that stuff. The slow burn was just right.

I got to have Big Dog's awesome pig candy and the insanely good almonds (recipe please!) all washed down with a Shiner Bock while hanging out with the Brethren at the American Royal. That is pretty hard to beat. Thanks once again guys.

Somehow I missed out on both... but I have had both, before, and they are great!! From the rave nut reviews I've heard, I guess the yoshida's makes it!

Sounds like maybe a pig candy / smoked nut throwdown at the Midwest Bash..... who's in!!!!

All I can say is WOW!!

Jimmy said "If you like hot you'll love this." So in my translation that meant "Yeah about as hot as a decent hot wing." What it should have meant was

"PONG PONG PONG ATTENTION ATTENTION!!!! THE FOOD PRODUCT YOU ARE ABOUT TO EAT IS RADIOACTIVE!!! CONSUMING IT WILL MELT YOUR HEAD CLEAN OFF YOUR SHOULDERS!!!"

I should have realized when it passed my nose and singed my nose hairs. The piece was well cooked. Not a brittle mess and had a wonderful sweet taste as you first started to chew. The sweetness starts to mingle nicely with the heat that starts to build forward in your mouth. That initial burst of capsaicin really wakes your mouth up. About this point Jimmy looks at me and says. "I asked you if you liked hot". I guess the steam rising off the top of my head was a dead giveaway. My face surely turned a few shades in the following moments as I reached for a drink. At this point my eyes began to tear. It felt like I had swallowed hot lava....really really REALLY tasty hot lava. The drink helped and my head soon dropped below the kelvin scale of temperature. After all of that. I really wanted another piece. :lol:

It wasn't heat for heat sake. It was tasty tasty pig candy. I'm glad I had some.
