If anyone in the midwest is looking for the Weber Chimney Starter this morning's sale flyer for Westlake "Ace" Hardware has them priced at $9.98. "Westlake Ace Hardware" looks like they are in some areas of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma.

I'll be looking even here in FL. I just picked up two el cheapos at K-Mart marked down to $3.00 -- blew the sphincter out of the CharBroil starter using my turkey burner (think I'll go back to my alcohol stove, thank you very much! :D) to start the coals yesterday.

The Weber's are much heavier and I believe a bit larger. $9.98 is a great price, too.

Hey John.. Thanks much!!!! I was on my way to HD today and passed and ACE hardware around here and remembered this post. Pulled in to see if the sale spread tot he east...........low & behold they were selling chimneys for 10 bucks. Picked up 3 more. !!!!

btw.. dave.. aint no charbroil chimney thats gonna stand up to a turkey burner. Mine had a meltdown after the second try. That thin plate on the bottom aint meant for any serious heat. The webers have a heavy gauge spiral grate on the bottom that letds the flame pass thru.

I know - I was just hoping for more than the 4 or 5 starts I got out of the last one!! :D

Actually, the grate is ok the rivets melted out!!
