I thought new york strip and strip steak were the same?

I was being facetious, the shell and strip are the same. Both cut from the short loin
Depending on where ya are in the world, they are also called Delmonico steak, Kansas City (strip) steak or sirloin club steak. Usually, around here, if you order a shell steak, its comes bone in, but a strip will be boneless. Either way, it's a Porterhouse steak minus tenderloin.

Now I'm just confused. I thought a porterhouse minus the tenderloin was a regular old t-bone. Am I thinking of the right chunk of meat, and the strip is just a boneless t-bone?

I gotta get me a meat cutting chart.

i thought a porterhouse and t-bone were the same thing. But theres a "cuts of beef chart" in the files section under Misc I looked at and the porthouse and teabone are 2 different cuts, so your probably right. But im sure a shell or strip is the larger side of the t-bone.. or proterhouse.
