Our team name is Donkey Punch BBQ and yes please stop by and say hi. We've been practicing for a year and have done several practice runs, but I know we will forget something maybe even the meat :) We're just hoping not to finish dead last in anything, but as long as we have fun it should be a great time!

Hey Don, as long as you're coming down, I wouldn't object to paying you for a bottle!

I can do that. It'll also cost you a cup of coffee for Bobby on Saturday. I want him to get rid of the hangover a little earlier in the day this week.

KC_Bobby
09-03-2009, 01:28 PM
Don't worry about that in the future - I learned my lesson about participating in the shot walk on cook night. However, I may be part of that crew on Thurs or Fri night at the Royal.

My BS motto - more Powerade, less TR

No problem there, Don! We put on a 42 cup pot of coffee that's ready around 6am or sometimes earlier. We've yet to drain it all at any one event in five years of contests and we share it with as manyfriends as we can!

Wait... maybe that says something about how many friends we have!?!?!?!?

Exe-que-tioner

I can help with draining the coffee pot before converting to the "Zing-Zang" breakfast drink that usually takes place around mid to late morning!
Jeff.......are you guys going to be in the same spot as last year where we were directly across from you? We requested the same spot this year.

KC_Bobby
09-03-2009, 08:17 PM
Word is they have reconfigured the set up - not sure exactly how, but sounds like the vendors (buck a bone) teams will be where where ya come in instead of the other end.

Will be with Big Creek for the contest!

I'm sorry.......

Teresa and I thought long and hard about cooking this one, and came to the conclusion it would just be easier to write the check and hand it over to you KC guys and save the set up and tear down hassles.....

I'm gonna try to talk Teresa into coming up and visiting, if we can make it, we'll be glad to hep anyone anyway we can.

Headed up to the city today.........gonna make a stop in Pleasant Hill at the Save-a-Lot to pick up some spares. I hear they are on sale (Hormel and Excel). They usually carry some nice looking racks in the cry-o-vac. Have always had good results with the Excel brand. Why is it that certain brands seem to do better than others?

Exe-que-tioner
09-05-2009, 11:08 AM
Just called the Save-a-Lot. No Excel's on this morning's truck. Farmland only. I guess the employee I spoke to the other day did not know what they were talking about. Oh, well. Will go check them out anyway.

This was the first GC together for Randy (Pigboy) and I since we started the team in 2001. Being that this is our hometown contest and our first together, this was a very significant and emotional win for Plowboys.

We also made some serious bank on Friday and Saturday.

We went through about 15 gallons of lemonade. I think half of that was us or friends drinking it. I need to make one of those! It is clean and ready to return to its owner. When and where do you want to make the exchange.

Feels good to have the Home Town team award back again after getting ROBBED by Grillas last year. Don Denner asked if getting second last year pissed me off. It did. Even more than GC, I was focused on Blue Springs team. I want that EVERY year.
