Fran and I are hoping to be there. Don't know if we will be judging or not. Laureen and Anita may have all they need. Gee, if we can't judge, we may just have to spend all of our time walking around visiting with old and new friends..... Gentlemen or chocolat milk......??? I guess it depends if I have a cigar to go with it....

08-12-2009, 03:53 PM
John ,maybe you can bum a cigar from Buzz.

Way to go guys, congratulations on the 1-2 finish 8)

08-23-2009, 09:02 AM
Thanks for posting the results, Clark (and for highlighting the Brethren teams :-D)

Larry, I added your team name to the results.

We had a great time at this competition. The facilities were nice (they even had indoor restrooms with hot water ). They took great care of the teams. We had folks coming by regularly to see if we needed anything. Even though the weather on Friday and Friday night felt more like October we made the rounds with frozen margaritas (we were pretending that it was summer) and met a whole bunch of new people including the Grillin' Fools (nice hat, BTW!). We were parked next to Chef's Gone Grillin' (Chef Jeff and Chef Gary). These guys are chefs (doh!) and culinary instructors at the Fox Valley Technical College. They are great guys and we had a lot of fun with them. Their spot didn't have much flat space so we graciously let them put their fire pit in our space :-D so we had time to talk while sittiing close to the fire. It was great to see them get three calls!

08-23-2009, 09:04 AM
thanks ron

Thanks all, I was not happy with some of our turn ins but I guess when its your day  I really want to thank the teams that showed up for our local contest. They had several teams from Minnesota and Iowa along with Ron and the Illinios teams.I guess next year I better pay a return trip to a few contests out of Wi.

08-23-2009, 12:10 PM
I think you should just stick to cooking close to home. We have enough competition in the other states! :-D

Thanks for hosting for the competition and the 9:22 shot! We had a great time!

08-24-2009, 09:10 AM
Thanks for editing my post Ron.
I didn't mean to slight any of the Brethren teams. I scrolled through the list of Brethren teams looking for new ones, and I guess I didn't do very well.

Hope to see you all in Princeton!
