I will be there, I think Tony76248 is going to cook also. Please stop by for a cold beverage. Good luck with your first one - let me know if I can help or if you have questions - not saying I will have the answers, but always willing to try.

Myself, Stu's Q, and the Ritter's are in...

Glenn, do you know if Ronnie and Michelle are coming too?

Yeah-- Andy, Todd, Scot, Donny, Bart, and David can all stay away...

Hey Glenn, let's do a pot luck Sat night...

Jeff Hughes

Also, let's do a parsley challenge.

Josh will pick up a case of very good parsley, we'll split it with as many as six teams. Low over all score pays for the case(20 bucks). I know Ritters are in for sure....

We will be there. I know of a few other local teams that will be there as well. That is also the same weekend of the Mt Pleasant event that pays added money so I am not sure of how many local teams it will affect. The Mt Pleasant event has been put together by Brad Carraway, so he will get some loyal following since he attends others events. Bedford is just too close not to attend for us. Plus it will be a fun change to do KCBS every once in a while.

You all realize that Mt. Pleasant is Saturday turn in and Bedford is Sunday turn in? I don't know if Bedford is prohibiting checking in after a certain time, but I think it's like 2-3 hours between them. The last time I did a contest with a Sunday turn in, I remember a bunch of cookers coming in after about 8pm on Saturday!

Lynn.

Due to staffing problems at our cafe, we can't get away for the time needed to do Calgary. Have been able to secure a spot at the Bedford contest, so will see y'all there. Look forward to the short (30 miles) drive which is a first for us doing KCBS.

I'd hitch a ride to this place. CFS is pretty good, get the gravy on the side.

Personally I'd start with the Monster Fries, and then have the Mexican Burger.

What time are you pulling in with the land yacht? I'm catching a flight out of DFW later in the day, and can probably drop off a pan of something tasty if you will have room to keep it cold and warm it up in one of your cookers.

FYI, I live reasonably close to the comp site and we got drilled with some heavy rain last night. Chance for scattered thunderstorms all weekend. Other areas got a lot less rain.

For those that haven't left yet, pack accordingly.

Set up this afternoon. The ground is sun baked with grass cover. Some trees (I got one). Good wide alleys. Plenty of power. Water is at on end so need a LOOOOOONG hose if any distance is involved. Not sure where turn in will be.

Might be a traffic issue for folks from OK. OSU is playing BYU at Arlington at the Arlington Pansies (formerly Dallas Cowboys) billion dollar fiasco with $75 parking (and thats not valet). Traffic south on 35 is already heavy around Denton. You may have to traverse some of the traffic to get to Bedford. See yall there.

Brother, as you should have...

The only event I have right now is the Okla State Steak Championship, you know how fall is with the kids. John's in Scouts and soccer...

I'll probably just cook Cody's deal and hit it hard in the spring. I'm a bit toasty after my run this summer...

I may come up to the Royal and hang a bit...

Send me a sample when you get a chance, I just pm'd you my address...

Congrats to you all.

Thanks for the post Ty. I did like my brisket and was happy for the walK. My chicken just wasn't that good, just lack of KCBS experience there. My ribs didn't get done enough was busy trying to adjust to kcbs vs ibca but in the end it was good practice for my next kcbs event. I thought my Pork entry was great just need to find the right sauce.

Keller Steeler (Brian) did cook great and gave me some great help.

It was great to meet all of the brethren there. Put names with faces.

It was a lot of fun and a great venue. If you don't put this on your radar for next year you will be missing out. We got 6th in ribs, 6th in pork, 4th in brisket, and 3rd overall. The team beside me was from Florida but was from their originally, he was cooking the contest and getting married today on labor day. I wish him and his bride (forgot her name but she was introduced as Bubbles to me) a long marriage and now what a fine anniversary every year. They get to cook this contest.
