On Saturday night (at a site to be determined) we will be having a pot luck dinner. This is the official thread to say that you will be attending (a rough head count of team members would be nice as well) and what you are making.

As per a few requests I am making Ćevapčići

Unfortunately, the Polocks will not be attending this year, but I will make and eat some Gulumpke (Polish stuffed Cabbage) on Saturday night in honor of all the Brethren at Hudson Valley. I will be thinking about and pulling for all the Brethren at the contest. Maybe it's just as well. I am not sure any of you want to be around me after eating Gulumpke. I am sure Michele will end up in another bedroom that evening.

Barring any last minute changes, it looks like the judging area will be made available for the Potluck Dinner. I will have a definite confirmation on Monday. if this happens, we will have a nice area with lots of space to set up and enjoy the potluck. also anybody that would like to help out by cooking few xtra burgers or dogs for the contest organizers to enjoy would be greatly appriciated.

Hey Eric,

Since I am the new guy I will bring burgers, dogs and buns for the rotarians and then some (man I had to look that word up). I was going bring carne asada but for the size of this gathering I would need a loan for that much skirt steak. I was at the back of the line and missed out on the HoDeDo potatoes
I was the recipient of the last spoonful of those

PS - thanks for the birthday wishes and cake for me in addition to Poobah who had the milestone birthday...

Side note - I ate all three kinds of the brownies - they were all excellent but I think my favorite were the ones TJ brought with the cherries..

From what I heard there were a lot of extra people at the dinner because at the cooks meeting they made mention of a potluck dinner being held in that room later in the day and requested the attendees clean up but did not note that it was a brethren party so I think others ended up wandering in at some point.

It was also nice to see the leftovers go to the Food Pantry.

i had a blast at the dinner.. ate like a pig.. but got real worried when diva brought out the old folks inflatable barrier and big barry brought over a gift bag.. then I had pigmaker and a few others at the table passing comments about the birthday.. yup.. i was concerned.. After dinner out comes sled, shawn, hoededos and a small train with birthday cakes and break into song..

yup... thats embarrassing,

it got worse when I walked outside and somehow, ALLTHE DAMN POSTERS that were stapled to the trees in my neighborhood made it to ribfest.. 40 birthday posters plastered all over the venue.. with pics that say 'give this guy 50 birthday punches'...

yupp embarrassed again...

but it was really a great feeling to be surrounded by so many friends... The Brethren.. Thanks to everyone for making that a contest to remember..

Yeah, I had more than a piece of that. It was so good all I could think about was how somebody prepared it onsight. It really was that good. Thanks - I really enjoyed it.
