So I am new here, I have checked it out a couple of times and decided to join.

I am the scorge of my Condo development with my little 18.5" weber. Grilling most nights of the week and smoking up the neighborhood on weekends. If it walks, swims or flies, I will try to kill it and get it on my kettle.

The little weber is great, but we go to my buddies house and use his offset charbroil smoker, which has served us well.

We have been doing a pig roast every year with a caja cooker, and for a quick roast it is hard to beat, couple of hours you have an entire pig done. Problem is no smoke or BBQ texture. The charbroil is too small for an entire pig so this year we started a project.

We have not named it yet, but have been thinking about the bad boar..

We have been working on it Sundays for the past 5 weeks I guess. My buddy does some welding at work, but I have been learning on this project. My favorite part was the cutting torch

Welcome to the forum. Glad you joined us.

Maybe I am missing something, but I gotta say, that smoker looks top heavy - especially if it is loaded with meat. Are you concerned about it blowing over in a big wind?

That is one of the upcoming steps, we are planning on welding a pair of angle irons to each end as legs. That or we will stack some cinderblocks under each end,

It is surprisingly sturdy and I think it would take one hell of a wind to blow it over. I am more concerned with some Jac@$$ bumping into it after knocking back a few to many.... and by jac@$$ I am most likely refering to myself.

Welcome aboard! I'm thinking you're gonna need to support that smoker on the sides. You dont want it to turn over full of meat!
