I had the pleasure of meeting the board for this comp saturday morning in CT. There is no doubt in my mind that this contest will be first class. The group of people running it are very involved and truly care about the competitors.

There are so many extras that no other contest I have ever been to offer to there teams.

The location cannot be beat IMO.

Please read and hear what they have to say and go to this competition, you will be blown away by care and effort put into this.

This in my mind will be the east coast RITZ of comps.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me, I have contact with the board and would be happy to pass on any comments or questions.

Thanks everyone and see you in Norwalk, CT.

You are getting a lot for the money. I sat down and went over everything. If you put everything together and the total prize money opps you have to win, 350 is actually cheap for this comp. You really need to see the prize money break down.

Cook some chicken wings supplied by the event and win 500 for first place???? Don't sound bad to me.

When is KCBS cooks meeting?

How do you get vehicle passes? At gate or ahead of time? How many per team?

Jacked UP BBQ
03-03-2009, 10:25 AM
The cooks meeting is going to be Saturday night around 6pm give or take a few. As far as the passes go, once you send in your app, you will get a welcome package and you can park as many vehicle's as you want for the event and a close lot with free shuttles. You will also receive passes for your team and families to enter the event. As far as parking at the comp site goes, it will be a first come first serve basis, so get there friday and you should have nothing to worry about. See you there.

you will probably want to plan this so you don't have to go in and out much if at all. traffic can get a little gnarly during the festival and there are cops everywhere. We start building down there the weekend b4 labor day and hopefully its mostly done labor day weekend to allow for weather. I will probably bring my traiers in labor

We are in, just holding out as long as i can, just in case a 500 person catering job pops up.

Is there a limit on teams?

Don't hold out!!! You will win more here with your skills if you come!!! I believe they are going to try to hold around 50 teams. They have a lot of room.

I am going to this comp, there is no doubt about it. This will be top notch. If you are in reasonable distance, it would be silly not to come.

Wish it was the price that was a typo.:icon_sad

IMHO they are asking too much. Most won't get past the price to see the nice things offered. I know I didn't.

How many teams are there?
