Hi. I've been searching the web and reading forums and it looked like this was the best place to learn more on Queing and share my NB horizontal offset rescue project. Here's my beautiful wife and I.
Here's the rescue project
I have seen pics on other sites of this smoker, but some identify it as a Black Diamond and others as a Silver. Anyone know for sure which it is? I got it for $20. It was in a back yard, sunk into the dirt and 3 legs are rusted off a few inches. Both the firebox and cooking chamber were full of ashes and heavily rusted inside but still solid. The vents work and the porcelained cooking grates are OK. The first order of business is to rebuild the legs so she can stand on her own. I'm not sure yet if I will knock he rust off the outside and paint it. I only intended for this to be functional until I can afford a new one, but as most of my projects go, I usually go a step or two further than I originally planned. I will definitely give it the recommended mods with a deflector at the firebox opening and extend the chimney down to the grill level. I will post my progress as it goes.

God bless,

Here's a link to the smoker pic.
Can't seem to figure out how to insert pics. Do you have to subscribe to be allowed to insert pics and attachments?

Welcome to the Brethren. Glad you decided to join us. I always like to see more Texans on here.

By the way, my dad would never go back to Waxahachie since he got picked up for loitering there for hitchhiking and put on a chain gang when he was a teenager. Said he told himself, if he ever got out of there, he would never come back, and he never did. But ever after he could always spell it.

Welcome to out little corner of the world.

That I believe is a Black Diamond. The "silver smoker" didn't have the firebox "table"

Howdy. That looks like a black diamond. I had one of those, cooked the snot out of it. When I bought my Klose I passed it on to my friend for a case of beer. He fixed it up a little and its still going today! Have fun.:icon_cool
