Name is Gary and we live in Huntsburg Ohio ( where we always have at least 6 to 8 inches of global warming on the ground this time of year )

Just purchased a propane cabinet style smoker to practice on before I invest in a "grown-up type smoker". Fairly proficient on the gasser grill but this is my first foray into the wonderful world of smoke.

Live out in the country with "she who must be obeyed" - 2 teenage boys (in college) - 4 dogs - and 2 pygmy goats and a peacock (last critters her idea)

This looks like the perfect site to learn the "trade" from the masters, have a good time while sipping a micro-brew and maybe make some new friends.

Welcome!

Wonder what the time and temp on a pygmy goat is? (Just wondering out loud)

trp1fox,

I have wondered that very same thing! I will have to wait for the bigger smokers though.

OK.... first thing off... Welcome to the madness!

Second.... lets see the pix of the goat and peacock.

Third... then we'll determine what size cooker, time, and temp.

Fourth... better to wrap it in bacon!

BBQ Bandit - Pygmy goats aren't so "Pygmy" and they like to play "Coors Beer Commercial" by butting heads and anything else that comes near.

Peacock about 15 LBS. beer can method?

about cooking goats and sheep.

Welcome, Gary.

I know goat bbq is a big thing in some parts of Georgia. I won't knock it since I haven't tried it - yet.
