View Full Version : Displaced Texan in the Land of Death Rays

Hello All!

Displaced Texan stuck in the State of Arizona - Gilbert specifically...

Texan by birth, Fire Engineer by trade, Father of two cute little girls by the grace of God, and Husband by the sheer iron will and determination of my loving wife!

I always liked cookin and family camping / boy scouts gave me a deep set love for both dutch ovens and an open flame.

I have always been grillin - my weeknight go to is a 4 burner gasser (yeah, I know...). I found the site researching mods for my entry into the world of BBQ (modified char-griller pro with SFB) and stumbled into the UDS thread. 122 pages later - here I am!

Humble beginnings and high aspirations... time will tell

Cheers!

Welcome.

Please pay no attention to Shane. He just pretends to be Texan. He's actually Canadian.

I'm over here in Mesa, for the past 25 years. I used to live in D/FW area, Mesquite to be exact, way back in the early 70's... Don't miss it at all!

Wow, thanks ya'll! I was going to respond to everyone individually - but you guys post too fast!!!

To a couple of the more "flavorful"

Txschutte - Thanks, though I'll have to forgive you of your avatar... I hail from the great institution in Lubbock, Texas, and I might be sitting a little taller for the drubbing we graced upon the 'horns last weekend. :-P

Barbefunkoramaque - Texas is big enough to have a bit of it all, your trying to hold that against it? sheesh...

Bowhntr - Frisco, huh? I used to work there right off 121 and I still have my house up in Providence just west of you (market stinks -/rant off). We'll have to get together if I move back out that way in a year or so (fingers crossed!)

Desert Dweller - Exact opposite for me (in that I won't really miss Arizona if I move back to Texas) but that is mainly due to all the family back home. We like the valley well enough going on the two years out here- I just want a real change of seasons, that's all.

RichardF - All right, all right - your answers comin as soon as I have the time to put together an "appropriate" response...

Cheers,
