I spoke with Laura from the chamber yesterday afternoon and she said they had reached 15 and we're still expecting one or two more :D

She also mentioned that they we're giving us ribeyes to cook up and serve for a people choice a $1.00 each I believe the proceeds go to Leukemia or another organization like that.

$7500 in prize money, a state championship, and only 13 teams. I thought this comp would be full. Is there something else going on that weekend?

Anyone here on the fence?

Nahh... Those scores had nothing to do with it. We'd been trying to keep that wekeend open in case there were last minute wedding stuff to be done.. but after Mike's post about why not... we started talking about it... and as time went on we sort of realized we were doing well witht he wedding planning and could make it.

Got a new brisket recipe to try out before Harpoon... doesn't hurt to give it a try in a live setting.

See everyone Saturday (we will arrive this time like normal people).

The standings are a little deceiving. The Anchormen actually have the best shot of taking the lead. They need to average a little over 641 for the next three contests (Troy, Harpoon BBQ, Harpoon Grilling).

iQue is the next closest and they would need to average over 644 per contest.

Transformer needs to average more that 646 per contest.

Not that I've put any thought into this or anything :icon_blush:

This comp was great. The city of Troy went above and beyond to make us teams feel wanted and appreciated. Gift bags, t shirts, free brisket, free garnish, coffee, and donuts, always asking if we needed anything, late night weather reports, and incredible prize money! We'll be back next year.

Glad we could help hope we weren't to noisey for you. You did a great job I wish I had more time to do more of these but the checkbook says I must work you know how that goes. It was great to finaly meat some of our brothers and sisters in smoke. I may be down to the Battle of the Brethren I most likely won't have much catering going on then just some roadside vending.
