I know that technically these are not boiled. I mean, they are made on a grill. Anyone ever try this method? Is this technically "boiling ribs"? I'm thinking of trying it actually..... maybe.

I don't know why he bothered with the grill.............crock pot would have done the same damn thing until he pulled them out of the soup. :icon_sick

Looks more like a braise than a boil to me Vic. WAAAAYYY TOOO much sauce for me. You could adapt it by browning first, braise in some liquid other than sauce, and finish how he did.

Technically, they are boiled, if you think about it. They're immersed in a boiling liquid - whether it's water or <gag> three bottles of sauce and some beer - and who cares what the heat source is. He could have done them on a stove or in an oven. With a foil seal he's getting nothing from the charcoal but the heat! I dunno, maybe he finally took them out of the pan and grilled them towards the end of the video... I had to turn it off and run to the porcelain god. ;)

I have tried the same method as the video but they came out and tasted like chit. We took them camping to try it but I will never do it again. Definitely better on the smoker or crockpot...

Walt, please don't post pics like that again! I threw up in my mouth a little.

The ones on Youtube are sort of a braise, rather than a broil I think, but I do "Country Ribs" the same as regular ribs, low and slow.

I think, if I'm not mistaken that they aren't ribs at all, rather slice up parts of shoulders. Whatever, tasty meat if cooked right!

Yeah I actually took a pork butt and sliced a few "boneless" country style ribs a couple of weeks ago to grhow on the grill. SO I guess they're not really ribs. but they sure are good.

I thought the youtube video was bad, but the picture of the boiled ribs was disturbing! That poor pig.

I can't believe I just watched 5 minutes of that. I can't remember the last time I ate 3/4 of a bottle of BBQ sauce. Even as new as I am that looks more like a stew than BBQ.

I can't even gather the strength to open the video for fear of serious barfage. Saying it is a braise is trying to tell me the British don't boil their meat, they braise it!:icon_sick
