We recently did a comp and on the way home the cover for our offset was torn to shreds :x. I'm debating whether to even bother with a new one...

I cover the firebox on my Klose. Mainly due to a sprinkler head that aims right at the air intake.

I have a cover for my Silver Smoker which just bites. It's the one expressly made for it, but it's got this damn fuzzy lining which just sticks all over the place. And to make matters worse, despite the covering, my firebox has still got a big patch of rust going on. I'll still cover, but geez, I wish I could find a better one.

I have a few covers. Lowe's had some on sale for $4.00 closeouts awhile back. Use one of them for the UDS and the other for my BBQ Grillware. Neither fit right but are better than nothing.

I have cover's on all of mine. But, they're not foolproof either. Some do leak at the seams. But, at least I can keep the bird s**t off of them. And they don't show their age.

I use tarps purchased from Costco. They last longer than the ones from HD or Lowe's. Keeps the elements out. The only thing that gets in are my dogs that crawl underneath to lick the underbelly grease.

Tarp is a good (& cheap) idea. Thx!

I have covers over covers on some of mine! The Weber "Premium" covers are pretty heavy duty, but they have the venting material on them and here in the Pacific Northwest, that just don't cut it! Home Despot has the Green Char-Broil covers that work the best for me, they are long enough that I've used them on a Silver Smoker offset and they have velcro fasteners to keep them from blowing away.

I get the silver tarps from Harbor freight when they are on sale. Work great with a couple bungees.

I've seen some people use the heavy duty outdoor furniture covers.
