An associate of mine loves BBB so I smoked a butt and a loin so they could decide what they like. Hubba like the Canadian Bacon better and wifey likes the Pork Butt better. Guess what they get next!!!! Anyway, she called and said her dad had a large cast iron griddle and wondered if I would want it. SURE I SAID!!! Now the question... this pic is showing this monster sitting on top of my smooth top stove and coveres it up completely. Any ideas on the best way to use this monster? It's farkin cool!!!!

I can see hash browns on it, fried baloney, ham steaks and eggs oh my sizzling away on that bad boy. It's a beaut!! You could also make some mean fried rice or refried beans on it!!

Problem i find with mine which is the lodge griddle/grill is that you really need equal sized burners or a griddle burner to be really effective. I have cold spots and hot spots on mine using the large and small burner on our new gas stove. Thanks to my home builder i didnt get the stove i wanted that had the center long burner designed for that type of application. I do use mine alot when i go camping or when im cooking on the big offset and just set it on top of the firebox to do eggs or pancakes.
What a monster!!
That thing looks like it weighs over 100 pounds!
Do you get hot and cold spots with it?
Being cast iron I would think that the temps would be pretty consistent.
HUGE pancake!! ~Uncle Buck Snow Shovel Mod~
Great score on the monster griddle. Those work great outside on a gas grill. I would be very careful about using it on your electric glass-top stove, the heat and weight can crack the glass top.:frown:

I got a 14" x 28" monster like that from Cabela's. It fits just right on this 3 burner cast iron stove from Harbor Freight:

We have 2 of these monster grills for our Kiwanis pancake feeds. It uses a gas burner that also serves as a frame, much like the one that Kevin has. I reccomend using a set up like that with a good knob for regulating temps. Then get a hunk of fatback for cooking and cleaning.

That IS huge! I, too, envision a whole slew of things being cooked on it simultaneously! Great score:mrgreen:
