Thank you to all who nominated a candidate.
Thank you to all who ran for office
and thank you for all who took the time to exercise their vote to make this election possible.

And isnt that the way the folks in this country seem to now operate now days?

So sad to me that approximately 75% of the dues paying members that support KCBS either forgot or dont give a damn about voting.

Sure hurts the other 25% of the folks who bothered to renew their membership like me to be able to vote or the others who had the option to vote and didnt bother.

25% is a reasonable percentage given the huge number of one time a year judges out there

Our CBBQA election using the same service drew 52% and thats in a very active group

2000 voted this year. Just a couple of years ago it was less than a 1000 with about 6000 members. It's an improvement. And to put it in perspective only 21% voted in the Michigan Primary.

And I have it on good authority that all but 2 votes were done on-line!

Personally, I think it's pathetic to only get 25% to vote. Really pathetic! ESPECIALLY given this particular time in KCBS history when it appears to me that MMA Marketing is pulling a freakin' hostile takeover of a NON-PROFIT organization. But that's another topic for another thread. Congrats to the winners and Phil, let's market you strong next year! And BTW... get a different farkin' email address to post when you go to other forums with your bio! LOL!

Merl your siginature is back to normal!!! funny how things can change so quickly.

Good luck to the new board members.

Jeff that means that 75% of the complaining is not ear worthy. if you do not vote do bitch. that is the 2008 mojo

Congrats to the winners.
I am sure that they will represent us well.

Jim--we will miss ya as an honest broker on the BOD!

Maybe someday the "members" will just elect folks that they trust and quit trying to rum the organization over the Internet!
The members have just voted, so let's see if they really will just let the BOD do their job, at least for awhile.

PoohBah and Clint---
I voted for you guys for TOTY

On Edit--I meant BOD, or something like that

Congrats to Phil and Clint for their very respectable showings.

The real travesty of this election is that 70 people voted for Sledneck.

Good effort Phil; I hope you try again.

If KCBS is going to be a national organization, I think they need to switch to some sort of regional representation on the Board. I just don't think it makes sense to have a national organization have its board dominated by one geographic region.

ThomEmery

Well we will see how this effects the organization
Who will be the next President?
I know BoD will vote but you know how these things....................

The expected candidates for President are:
Linda
Mike and Rod.

Self nominations or by a member of the BOD.
It will be interesting as to who will represent KCBS and be responsive to the members. I hope that is the case.
