View Full Version : Headed to NY for Christmas

Headed back to the in-laws over Christmas. They live in Binghamton. Any ideas on a good BBQ joint in that area? Better yet maybe someplace that rents smokers/cookers in that area that I can just make my own?
I love that area back there bigtime...anytime your in an area where you can blast away at chit in your back yard is cool with me. Momma wont leave Cali though even if it is her family thats back there.
I will be there from the 22nd til 2 Jan...hope my liver survives.
Any help would be appreciated.

Theo's was my go to place when I lived in Binghamton. This was before they moved to the new location. Theo was always out back with a half-barrel doing the cooking. They had a phenomenal Gospel-type-brunch with grits, fried chicken, cheesey eggs, sausage, etc....
I don't know how it is these days....
You can go to Lupo's in Endicott for spiedies, which are always a winner....
And Sharkey's, which is still there as far as I know....

Theo's huh? Thanks..I'll give it a shot. I have been to Sharkeys before good call! Have to try it again....had a great time when I was there before. Even hit $350 playing the keno game when I was there.
There is a watering hole called Nips on the edge of town at the bottom of the hill from where the in-laws live....time to try the wings there again.

I don't know if Theo is cooking with only charcoal....If you check it out, let me know...I'd be curious if the food is still good. They had nice homemade pies and whatnot, too....
