I only live 25 minutes from Hermann, and catering job is about 40 minutes away. My wife will have everything prepped on Friday, and I'm cooking the meats overnight Thursday after I finish vending. I'll pan it up Friday morning and put in the reefer, then head for Hermann.

If my wife brings the hot food to Hermann, I'll start to warm it after turn-ins. Then I can stay until about 5:00, as dinner isn't serving until 7:00. We shall see........

Due to technical difficulties the full result sheets didn't print, the will mail them to us....so I can't tell you who did what in each catagory or overall.....All I can say is several Brethren brothers walked....

We liked our product this weekend....usually a bad sign (LOL)....best finish was a 9th in brisket....19th overall, scored by a field of 100% certified judges.....

The contest is spread out over a fairly large city park, so we were on the opposite end away from some of the guys (I'm not sure if Slat was even in the same county). We were close to JBrink01 and Plowboy and it was good spend some quality time with them. Good to see Ho De Do, Slat, meeting NThole and all the other brothers too many to mention.

Pretty tough competitors at this contest! Congrats to all those that got to walk!

B&B BBQ (JBrink & myself) scored 8th in pork. Next best was Jeff's chicken at 16. We were 14th overall. The judges HATED my brisket. Oh well.

This was a pretty big milestone for me this week. One that I'm very, very proud of. This was my 10th top ten pork in 13 contests this year. Sorry to toot my own horn, but this was one of my big goals this year.

Mark and Becky - Very happy for you. The count has been reset for next year. You've got one down. Now go get six more!!! We want to see you go to the Jack!

Not only was awards long because of the many categories, but it was a train wreck. They skipped one of the places in a category. Had to call back Reserve Grand in the backyard because they gave them the Grand trophy. There were other issues that came up. I think they started about 30 minutes late.

It was god to meet you too. I wish I had gotten out more on Friday evening to mingle but as Spice says we had the "beer counters" there. Although my beer counter lost track of her own Thursday and Friday Wow, what a mess that was:eek: I am getting ready to purchase a Brethren banner so I can display it next year. Hope to get to see you again soon.

We had a great time in Hermann. Sorry I didn't talk to a lot of you. I kinda got into the wine:eek:, so I stayed close to camp.

Yea....I heard that! LOL.....no sign of you when I came by the party cove about 11 Friday night........that's OK though, I didn't get out like I normally do either....T and I kinda stayed down in the shady tree spots and let those that wanted come to us.....it was her birthday so I wanted to give her what additional attention I could between set up, prep, and cooking. we'll see each other out on the circuit again somewhere.....

This was the first cook that I have done with my wife Becky. I can say that we had a blast!!!! She got to know some of the brethren, and was blessed to hang out with Team Q all weekend. We earned two awards, 4th for her cheesecake ( you gotta try it). And 2nd in brisket!! A special thanks to Spicewine for such a great cooker. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Way to go for the brethren that walked!! The new spicewine is one GORGEOUS cooker. Great calls!!!

That was Big Chief, Good Illinois guys that moved to Missouri for the Q. Tried talking them in to joining the Brethren. We were set up between them and Andy. Benn a member for a while but just really getting to know you all. Hope to make it to a few with you all next year to get to know you all better. Still a little nervous about jumping in with both feet. My feet are pretty big.

Jump right on in - you had a great showing in Hermann. Hope we were ok Neighbors for you. With that Rowdy crew across the street, though - I'm sure I seemed pretty low key 8-)

Just want to say that I have never laughed so hard!! That was a blast... PORN Q

No one can say we didn't have fun!!!
