Well I wanted some Baby Backs today and did not want to drive accross town to get some at Sams Club. So I went to neighborhood chain store. (Albertsons). Picked up a couple slabs. ($3.99lb) Took them home and got them going. Fast forward 4 hours. Done. Brought them in and cut them- or should I say tried to cut. They were so tough. Now I know what you are thinking but I do know how to cook them. They were also pulled off the bone edges 1-1.5 inch. Not the best flavor either. Saw they were enhanced. Did not notice that at the store. Bad on my part. Should look better.
Ribs I get from sams are not enhanced and are always good. ($3.49lb) Choice meat. So I now know better.
On a good note the Armidillo eggs I did were very good!!
Fresh Jalps from the garden. HOT!! YUMMMYYY!!

I am sorry it didn't go better with the ribs. I am sure it's happened to all of us at one time or another.

I bought "baby back" ribs from Albertsons also. They reminded me of danish ribs. Never again.

Yep - sure enough - count me in as one taken in. But I only blame myself because, once again, it's the hazards of picking up the cheapest whatever from the meat case.

There are all kinds of forces working to improve their profitability and the acceptance of their products by the working people of the world. Unfortunately, more and more it's up to us as consumers to be aware and conscious of our purchasing decisions.

Our dollar IS our vote! Be conscious of what you buy and think about who and what you are supporting when you spend your money! I guarantee that if we ALL refuse to buy doctored meats, they won't sell any more.

My Sam's carries choice beef but pork only has 2 USDA grades....acceptable and utility. And as far as I am concerned, enhanced pork is NOT acceptable.

I am pleased with both the pork and beef from Sams. My Albertsons carries pork products labeled "Fresh Pork", which I'm okay with, but it's right alongside the juiced stuff. I bitch at the meat cutters every chance I get. I think that's the only way we as consumers can let them know.

We have all purchased enhanced at one time or another because the labels can be really sneaky.
