My team is getting kind of thin so I figured I'd troll for some teammates here. No convicted felons or registered sex offenders please.
It's in Kansas City October 5-7. No pay but lots of food, drink and fun. The Royal is not like any cookoff you've ever been to. It goes on for three days.
You'll mainly wash the dishes and ice the beer but it's a great experience. Heck the Maytag Repairman is on the team. (I'm not kidding)

You're in Bossman and you'll be in charge of security. We also have a mystery guest from Long Island so I'd say we're full for now. That was easy.

I don't know if Andy has gotten any help, but I'm sure we could use some help. I will be coming and going, running back to the house (don't think Grandma is going to watch the kids all weekend).

Sounds like a plan. Once I get my package (suppose to be today) lets talk! I might be able to help you with the open if needed.

I got my site. It is 43. I think it someone where near I70 according to the map :-P . That makes it a long walk for turn in. If you still would like to help, send me a PM and we can start working out the details.

As most of you know, my daughter recently returned home from Children's hospital in Denver after a 17 day stay. To say my wife is a little apprehensive of me leaving her here for a few days is an understatement, especially since we nearly lost Kaylee.
Because of this, and manpower shortage issues at work, I will have to give up the opportunity Dr. BBQ gave me to come and help out at the Royal. I apologize, I thought I would be able to do it, but my family has to come first, especially now.
I hope everyone understands. Good luck to all of you at the Royal, believe me this was, as I explained to Ray in a private email before I posted this one here, one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make in awhile, but I know it is the right one to make.

Bossman, we understand your situation. Family comes first. There will be other comps that you can help the Dr. out. It would an honor to cook with Ray for sure.Just take care of your family first.

I have cooked with Ray,,,,
He is a slave driver
I can not recommend him as a guy to work with!
Any way, any shape, or any form!
And, you know those "2 honeys" in his avatar??
Pure figments of his imagination---there were at least 4 or 6 hanging onto him at all times and I never saw those two!
So, if you want a long weekend of misery--go ahead and volunteer to cook with the good DR!
With all that said--(and that is all a joke or good-natured humor) --I will be there if he needs me and he knows that!
987 miles, 17.45 hours,.....
A small pittance to cook with the DR and help him concentrate on winning!!!!!!!
If someone up there wants to go and really SUPPORT Ray---go for it.
All that he or any cook can ask is to FOCUS on the goal which is winning.
I will be there if he needs me.
He is a Brother in more ways than most of us know!
