Get ready for the dumb question of the week. A friend gave a couple of logs of cherry (about 3.5" in dia.) and a couple of mulberry (about 4" in dia.). They've been in the trunk of my car for almost 2 yrs. Think they're seasoned yet? :-D
Seriously though, they look good to go. Watcha think?

Id say yes. 6 months to a year is good for most woods.

Hey Kirk,

I think they are ready to go!! After some point in time the wood may become "too" seasoned or dried out that the flavor is gone from the wood... I think you should be ok tho.

Let us know how the Mulberry works, that sounds really good!!

Look at the ends, if they're checked (cracks) its dry, might have some added flavor after 2 yrs in a trunk, bet your gas mileage just gor better!

I like a man who carries spare smoking wood in his trunk instead of a tire.

Oh, I got it all back there. Wood, a bag of lump, Weber fire starting cubes, extra grates for my WSM's and kettles, you name it. :-D
Thanks for the help guys.

I'd say you are good to go.

I have used mulberry before and really enjoyed it.

I use to keep my golf clubs back there, but never WOOD! LOL!

So... cracks on the ends is the sign? Any other signs?
