Over Thanksgiving, my wife and I were out in Silverton, Oregon visiting relatives and made some trips into the city. Our last meal out was at this new bbq place named Podnah's....The owner, Rodney, was part of the Low's bbq team (for those folks from Portland who may know that name).

I posted a full review on my blog here (http://backyardchef.blogspot.com/2006/12/home-on-range-podnahs-pit-portland.html), if anyone is interested.

Great ribs and brisket.

I just shot that link to my folks and brother in Portland, Matt. I don't think they've ever mentioned that place so thanks!

I've never heard of the place, but bbq admittedly isn't a big thing here (the best q-joint closed up cause nobody ever came in). Its definitely not the "signature" food of the PNW. Plus, I try not to spend a lot of time in that part of town unless I'm visiting somebody at the hospital down the street.

To be honest, Tony Romas and Applebees did pretty well here for a reason :P

My brother had never heard of the place but he's going to try it.

Here's a news flash: In Oklahoma City, our one and only Tony Roma's CLOSED a few weeks ago. Wow...

Podnah's has only been opened for a couple months. The owner has been in varrious places (parking lot, farmers market, rented store front) the last 4 years cooking up some really good Q. You should try it if you are out this way.

Thanks for sticking up for me Arlin.

To the rest of you  - My home, wife, son and dog are in Tigard but I spend a good amount of time somewhere in the world for work.
