I just had my first comp with the Shirley cooker this weekend. It cooked great. I had a little learning to do on how to keep temps as I have always cooked on pellet smokers. I had no real hiccups (except for solid rain for about 8 hours during the cook). This thing was a beast and put out some solid food. I did finish OK also, which was a bonus. I took 3rd in the wild game category (Elk tenderloin), 6th in steak and 9th in ribs. Brisket and Pork were top 25 (out of 54). Overall I finished 17th out of 54 and was feeling pretty good about that for the first cook. Here are a few pics.....

Looks great! Just a side question if you don't mind. Do you cook under the canopy? I thought about doing that but wasn't sure about it

I did cook under it this weekend, because the rain was so heavy all night. The stack was about 5' from the canopy. It did stain it brown, but other than that, there were no issues at all.

Is the nose of the trailer raised very high or is it just the picture that makes it look that way?

It was like that in the first picture. That was before I had leveled it out and started cooking.
