Hello all,

After lurking for a few weeks I got off the woodpile and signed up.

New to the actual BBQ cooking scene however I have been an avid consumer for my 51 years.

Jumped in with both feet last month and picked up a new MC BX-50 and have run it 5 times so far. The biggest meal was for 80 hungry guys two weeks into ownership. 3 packers, 2 whole shoulders (with picnic attached) and 25 pounds of homemade hot link garlic sausage.

The BX-50 sure made me look good. I adapted a cold smoke generator to the side as well as attached a Guru using the built-in port. Cold smoked, then hot smoked the sausage and iced them for grilling later. Then put the Packers and Shoulders (81 lbs total) on for an 11 hour cook at 250. If I do say so myself....it all came off well.

Have since done a few more shoulders, briskets, chicken halves and even some cheddar. I have some belly curing now for a cold, then hot smoke.
