View Full Version : Hello and Howdy to Everyone Here!

Here's my first post to this forum . . .
I want to thank Hawgsnheifers for letting me know about this place.
I've read through the 101 document and there was already more info in there than I can remember.
I've had a couple of Weber kettle grills - the big ones - over the decades and I've really enjoyed cooking with that grill, but now my kids have bought me a Brinkmann Pitmaster Deluxe for Father's Day. I can tell it's going to take a LOT of practice to learn this new grill . . . but that's a Good Thing!
I already have my beer marinating in the cooler of ice for this weekend's smoking sessions.
Thanks for making this great place available! I know how much work an online forum takes, so you can know that I REALLY appreciate all the hard work that goes into this.
Hang in there and see you around the forum!
Anyone have a cherry tree they need to have removed and hauled off?

Welcome to our nightmare David. Your day's of bland BBQ from the drive up window are now over. You will come to learn that this smokin thang is just like crack and you just can't get enough...
Now you can smoke your own meat. Oh, that would be a neat trick but then that would be posted in the wood pile not here.
And Bro's let me say right now, I'm not responsible for anything this Farker does, I just mentioned this forum and the rest is history.

Welcome David! I spent 10 years in Lawrence - go Hawks! Now I'm just slightly east of you on the NW edge of KC.....
Enjoy the site - if you learn as much as I am, you'll be getting your fix in moderate daily doses -- Brethren Crack mod.

Thanks, everyone, for the greetings.
I had my first serious smoking session this last Sunday - now I'm just trying to make the time to post about it in the Q-Talk. It was awesome - and only because of the outstanding information I've read here.
