Since Franklin's is a popular discussion this week, I thought I would share my experience. We were driving cross country last summer and planned on stopping in Austin for Franklin BBQ. It was a Saturday morning and we were a little slow getting started after the night before. As we drove by, the line was down the street and around and it was already 90* at 10:15.

I almost didn't stop but finally said screw it, we came, we're here, let's get in line. After about 15 mins. in line a young lady came through taking orders. After taking the order from the couple ahead of us, she looked at us and said "You are the last ones in that we can guarantee food":-D

Went back to the car, grabbed some chairs and settled in for the long wait. It turned in to quite a party as beers were flowing and tequila was poured and the afternoon went by nice and quick.

And of course - The Food:clap2:

I've often stated that I wouldn't stand in line for Franklin's BBQ. Not because I don't want to try it or doubt its quality. Mostly because I'm not a fan of standing in lines and rarely is anything worth it. Your post has changed my mind. I suppose it is how you look at it. If you go into it with a good attitude, a folding chair and a six pack, it might not be so bad. I just may get to try his que after all. ;)

I wasn't sure I wanted to wait in that line either, and probably would not have if I had to stand the whole time. The Last One Standing certainly added to the atmosphere.
