The Frostbuster BBQ contest is a contest that is in its 5th year. Along with myself and the rest of team Smokehouse 72 BBQ, we came up with this idea to help teams, judges, and organizers better themselves and get ready for the upcoming season. The only down fall is that we only open it up to 12 teams.
How does it work? Simple.
12 teams sign up to cook in a contest that is geared to get them ready for the bbq season. They can try new recipes, learn what the judges have to say with one on one same day feedback, try new cooking techniques, or try out their new cooker. Whatever it may be, we hope it puts you on the road to a great season. Just this year, four of the teams hit their first Grand championships. Im not saying this event was the sole contributor to their success, but Id like to think it had a hand it.
The entry fee is only $50 and that pays for your breakfasts and campsite. We announce winners but we do not have a monetary pay out. The experience and knowledge you receive will be great payment.

You can sign up or read more about the Frostbuster BBQ at this web page - http://frostbusterbbq.blogspot.com/ (http://frostbusterbbq.blogspot.com/)

Our Frostbuster event is one week before Iowas first bbq double header. http://www.iowabbqchampionship.com/ (http://www.iowabbqchampionship.com/)
This would be a great chance for anybody coming to tune up or learn out Iowa judges judge.
Hope to see you there.

What a great idea! We could use one of those in Michigan. I've always wanted to hear the judges thoughts, why they scored the way they did, etc.

It's easy to put together. If you or anybody you know want to put it together up in your neck of the woods and need some help, just give me a holler. Be glad to help you out.
