The purpose of this forum is to learn and discuss current food handling practices.
Although some of the topics will apply to commercial food handling, these same practices are just as well applied to your day to day living for handling food for you, your family and friends, as well as any exposure you may have to feeding the general public.

I will try to convey the industry standards as well as practical application.
There are some issues that some of us, including myself may not believe in, but that's ok.
There will be some grey areas. You may have to just apply common sense. But this will also be part of the basis for discussion.

A few of the health laws may vary from state to state, and we'll just have to deal with that, and you may have to investigate your states individual laws.

But all in all, we are striving to learn and apply safe food handling practices to insure the health and well being of those who eat the "Fruits" of our labor of love.

How it will work:

I will pose a question, with multiple answers. It is my hope that you will vote for the answer you believe to be correct, and then sit tight for a day or so while others select their answers from the poll.
If you know the answer to the question,

Answer the polls, but PLEASE DO NOT POST THE ANSWER IN THREAD until the thread is opened for discussion!

Wait until I submit the answer to the question, and discussion may then begin.
Also, the polls will be "Locked" so no one will know how YOU voted. So please go ahead and vote for the answer you think is correct.

Remember this is for learning, and not to determine who is smart or dumb.
There are no stupid questions.

Let's please keep all threads on topic, and no flaming (As always)

I Know there are other folks here who have credentials in food handling, and your input is welcome.
