Question to all of you who do this for a living.

I was asked to cook for a large family get together in a few weeks.
Everyone wants pulled pork sliders.
Question is how many should I cook for aprox 100 people.
I think I will get them from Sam's Club. They are usually around 16-18lbs per two pack.
We will obviously have other stuff such as veggies, baked beans, beer:wink:
and rolls.
I was thinking about 6 might do me but just wanted to check what the Brethren has to say.

How many ounces per sandwich, how many sandwiches per person?

Assuming 4 oz/slider and 2 sliders/person (total of 8 oz per person) you will need 800 oz of pork (50 lbs cooked pork) for 100 servings. Pork butts tend to have 50% loss in cook therefore you will need to buy 100 lbs of butts to produce the 50 lbs of cooked PP. You state your butts avg 17 lbs so you will need at least six(6) 17 lb butts. I would do 7 or 8 just to be safe.

4 oz. slider is very big, make sure you have to go bags ready. As said before leftover PP is awesome. Try it on tacos.

We make GRANDE SLIDERS. :biggrin1:

I agree that may be a bit much for a slider. The numbers can be back adjusted if one chooses to use less. Just didn't want anyone to go home hungry. :becky:
