View Full Version : Greetings from Long Beach, CA

I'm Jim from Long Beach, CA. Luckily my family enjoys grilled and smoked meat so I'm allowed to cook it a few times per week. After work it's usually grilled with gas or charcoal, on weekends sometimes smoked. When camping we grill with gas or wood.

Although I'm a member of some Weber specific sites, reading up on drum smokers brought me here.

When grilling or BBQ'ing, most common is grilled steaks, tri-tips, pork chops, chicken. Next comes grilled fish, usually salmon. A few times a year I BBQ pork shoulder or baby backs.

My outdoor cooking toys and how long I've had them:
Smokey Joe Gold- 20+ years
Lodge dutch oven(s) 12 years
Gas Go-Anywhere- 12 years (actually I'm on the second one)
Weber Smokey Mountain (WSM 18)- 11 years
Q220- about 5 years
22" Silver kettle- 4 years (freecycle plus a couple new parts)
18" Jumbo Joe- Last week

WSM mini project built a couple weeks ago
Craycort cast iron grates for the Gas Go-Anywhere and another set soon for the Jumbo Joe.
