I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. BBQ addict originally from Alabama but now live in the Carolina's. When I was in college my roommate and I would find BBQ places in every town we traveled to and rank them on a point scale, like if you could see (and smell) the pit from the door - 1 point, if you could spot the cook from the door and he had on a soiled white apron - 1 point, if you had to walk out side to go to the restroom facilities - 1 point, and so on. I found this place that got bonus points due to having the sheet rock ceiling being help up with a gallon tomato can lid with a nail driven thru it. I thoroughly love good BBQ and take great pleasure in cooking it. I am looking for a good plan for a brick pit in the back yard that i can do a whole hog on. Any suggestions are welcomed.
