I am almost afraid to ask this question. Seems this years is going to be a major bash. Lets see what the interest is this year.. I will do another poll as we get closer but I'd like to get an idea.

heres the options.

Some are flying in on Thursday, others Friday. Theyre all staying here. (unless you want a local hotel. Theres one about a mile away.) Sleeping may be REAL TIGHT this year unless we go to floors and tents. Keep in mind it doesnt matter to me here.

Some of the locals said they will be driving home at night and coming back. Maybe we can buddy system for extra sleepin space there. Its been offered. Keep in mind. NO ONE leaves here DRUNK!. Car Keys get turned over to the Host.
Some said theyre coming in just Friday or just Saturday. Only asking this for planning purposes. whiuch is going to be the BIG nights. Other bashes we tend to burn ourselves out one night and the next we are all so wiped out/hungover that we just dribble on each other.

There are always tentatives.

and if your an OTHER.. leave a post.

I really would like to be there and if I can find a flight that my wife won't get pissed over the expense, I'll try to work it in. The deal is I've got a contest the weekend before. I plan to keep looking for flights from KC to Islip and see if I run across a good deal.

If I do make it, I'll come in on Friday evening and have to head out fairly early on Sunday.

I'll be there, whether it's 1 time, 2 times, or 3 times, is unsure as of this moment.. I would offer to make a trip to JFK on Thrusady night for anyone arriving ealry for the festivities... might be cheaper, airfare wise, to arrive Thursday evening.. just a thought

I;d like to make an early mentio that there will be no tolerance for errant urination on people sleepin goutdoors who may turn in early or sleep a little bit late. Just mentioning it. Scott

Whatever you do, do not book on Delta..... might be a sinking ship after the strike by the pilots

Smoker
04-07-2006, 02:36 PM
I agree. I also have 210,000 freakin flyer miles I will lose if they strike and Delta goes under. After 15 years flying as a pilot I can sympathize with them but times are bad and getting worse. And with the price of gas doing what its doing, the pilots know they will all be out of a job ASAP if they strike. And no one is gonna hire them since every other airline will will be in bad shape also. And if they strike and Delta goes under.......by by pensions.

Yup Chef Boy-R-D (http://www.snopes.com/business/names/boyardee.asp) is a real guy.

Thanks for the info Robert.
He is from New York.
Smoked Spaghetti at the bash and the real Chef BRD.
***************************************

But Chef Boyardee was not, as commonly believed, a fictional creation whose name was formed from the given names (Boyd, Art, and Dennis) of the men who created him. He was indeed a real person, born Hector Boiardi in northern Italy in 1898. Young Hector was a culinary savant who reportedly worked in restaurant kitchens at the tender age of eleven before immigrating to America and joining his brother in New York at age seventeen. His brother's employment as a waiter at the prestigious Plaza Hotel helped gain young Hector entrée to the Plaza's kitchen, and over the next several years Boiardi whipped up his creations for renowned hotel kitchens New York, West Virginia, and finally Cleveland, where he opened his own restaurant, Il Giardino d’Italia.

Get your bags, walk over to the main terminal (about 200 feet) and go to the far set of doors. Stand out on the sidewalk and enjoy the snappy reparte' from the "limosine" service guys while waiting for Phil in his Escalade - or perhaps Sharon's Jeep - depends on the day.

Pay very close attention to how far it is and how long it takes to get to Mecca. Phil is on NY time and "I only live 5 minutes from the airport" doesn't really compute when trying to get BACK to the airport to leave!!

That's ok. But, to be on the safe side...back up your "I GOTTA be at the airport" at least an hour!! Do not say "I've got a 2:30 flight"...you'll wind up leaving Mecca at 2:15 for the "5 minutes" (20 minutes real time)drive to McArthur.

Ya gotta understand that Phil flies in/out of there so often he has his own parking spot and gate...I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have a by-pass security badge!!! Us lowly peons still have to get boarding passes (if Phil's printer is farked), clear security, etc.

"Early for a flight" does NOT compute with Poohbah!!

I'd say 9...if it's too early he'll probably tell you you're on your own...assuming a Sunday departure, everyone is moving a bit slow Sunday morning...Saturday evenings at a LINY Bash get "interesting"!!!

Oh yeah, I recommend you stake your claim on the living room couch...very comfy and out of the traffic lanes.

3 weeks from today on the 22nd I will be arriving at 10:55pm on Southwest Airlines.

Phil, do you want some more spicy canteloupe?

I'll bring rub and sauce. I'd like to make a donut bread pudding or a banana pudding. Let me know which you prefer and I will tell you the ingredients.

Sharon would like the Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding... She wanted me to make it and ship it to her.

You haven't heard Cabo snore yet. I think he can knock them all out of the trailer.

I was reading the snoring part of this thread thinking, Hmmmm, should I reply????????

Greg!!!!! You remembered!!!!

I’ve been divorced for 27 years, and best that I can remember was, a part of the settlement said, that I would not be in the same county as my ex wife during sleeping hours. I have been approached by Homeland Security folks wanting to know what my intentions were regarding my neighbors.
Nuff said!!!!!!!

Sure wish I could make it! Usually about this time I'm getting real antsy to get to LI. Anne even asked this morning - aren't you going to NY the end of this month? Unfortunately, I just can't afford to come up this year...but, I know it'll be a great weekend!!

This bread pudding is artery clogging and will put you in a sugar coma if you eat too much. Sounds like Brethren food to me.

Meat, beans, and beer for me. I'd just as soon get teabagged than being subject to eating anything else that weekend.

Phil, My flight is the same as FatDad's. Is there a grocery store or small market close to the Mecca? Me and the big boy might want to whip something up when we get there.

And we need to buy some distilled water for our CPAP machines.

I am getting very excited about the Bash and plan on shipping a small box to your address by the end of this week.

Quinn

FatDad we need to talk at the lodge tonight! See you there.

TK,

At the very least....can't you wear this lovely dental floss as a courtesy ?

Otherwise if I stick around late enough just give me a heads up before you decide to turn in so I can get started on my ride home to my bed to avoid any nightmares...

OK guys. Despite everything I've read in this thread and despite my good judgment I'm going to attend the bash. I just ask that you be gentle with one of the newer Brethren.
