View Full Version : New to the Forums, From Illinois (but living in Maryland)

Hey guys, figured it's about time I introduce myself, I've been lurking on the site for a while. My name is Mark, I'm 27, have been cooking and grilling since I was 17 and in the last 5 years have really gotten into it. Had a brinkman offset at my old place that my roommate owned and that thing was worthless. Obviously by the name I'm a car guy, I've got an '03 Mach 1 Mustang with a custom blueprinted five liter dual overhead cam motor in it. Pushing just shy of 400 to the drag radials (about 450 to the crankshaft) with 9.1:1 compression, forged crank, custom Manly Pro-Series pistons, and custom ground Comp cams.

Anyways, I've got most of my UDS mocked up, I'm waiting on the fire basket right now to get finished up at the welder and I'm having a really hard time deciding on what design to use for the exhaust. After that i'll sand it down, paint it up, and hopefully have some blue smoke rollin' in about 2 weeks.

They sell the individual parts for the kit.

But since you are a car guy, I think you should find some way to use a chrome exhaust pipe.

I live in Columbia right now, but I've lived in Odenton and Pasadena also. Have you checked out that BBQ trailer off route 3, kind of close to where it intersects with 175? I think it's called Rusty's or something like that. I went there a couple months ago and it the meat was cooked well, everything was tender and moist. Of course every BBQ place is going to season their meat differently, only critique I would say was that I don't think the flavor of the rub and smoke was very present in the one pulled sandwich that I got. I'd certainly go back to try more things on the menu, it's on the way to Capitol Raceway so I might stop by next time I'm going to go run the car!

I can smoke out a city block with a 2nd gear brakestand (no line-lock)haha. Now tire smoke or apple wood smoke.... I don't know which one I like more?

Only had an 80 (1st year) GT, myself. Replaced the 2 bbl with a holly 650cfm & edelbrock manifold. Now, at nearly 60, driving a GTI with the same HP the GT came with stock. Older is better! Welcome! More Pics of the car(choice), and UDS, asap, please.
