I am going down there tomorrow from Detroit for a Reds game and want to eat. I know about skyline Chili, heard different things about the Montgomery inn. It does not have to even be BBQ just good food. We will be real close to Grate American Ball park most of the time other then driving in and driving home. thanks.
Hungry from MI

It might be my own personal taste, but I've never cared for the M-Inn ribs. Seem way over boiled or something, mush and too much fall off the bone and a ketchup based sauce.
I much prefer a rack of Tunnel Ribs from across the river in Detroit. My preference is for the mustard/vinegar type sauces.
Moved away 20 years ago, so I don't have a good current recommendations.

Find out where Mickey's Cheesesicles are being sold that day. It is hit-or-miss, but they are awesome!

Drop a PM to a Brethren Brother known as 'The Pigman' (Roger Dietrich) his BBQ catering truck is hard to top locally.

Stay away from montgomery inn......if you are just coming in for game and then going home there are a lot of Resturant/ bars across the street from ball park. The hometown staples can be found in the ball park. If you have a little time to spare there is a Cajun place about 15 min from there. Knotty Pine On The Bayou. That is awesome.

Graeter's Ice Cream
Some of the best ice cream I ever had. Simple too, no chock full of candy, just good ol' fashion ice cream.
