What kind of things do you make for this category?

You're going to hear this from a lot of folks......Cheesecake!!

Best of luck.

Along with cheesecake (not my favorite), I've also seen a bunch of fruit cobblers, especially apple, creme brle, chocolate cakes and puddings, and things with strawberries.

Numerous other things as well, but these seem to be the most common that I've judged.

We have a team local to here that has been killing it with cheesecake :). Although a lot of people say they want to see something different, cheesecake is still what is winning.

Just wondering how a chocolate peanut butter bacon pie might do?

Probably pretty dang well. Our next competition they don't have dessert, but they do have any "Anything Goes" where they supply bacon and sausage. You only have to use 1 of the ingredients so we are working on a bacon dessert. Though it could completely backfire and disrupt the time/space continuum .

DBA BBQ in Atlanta makes a killer Bacon Banana Pudding...just saying. You might need to swing by there and give it a try. :becky:

I once judged a dessert that had bacon in it. The dessert was not that bad but the bacon over powered it. It mainly tasted bacon so I scored it down. When I am judging desserts I think that it should taste like a dessert and not simply taste like bacon.

Or, if you want to shoot for second place, you could make something like this:

Did they not like the flavor or something? Because that is gorgeous as hell :clap2:.

It crashed and burned on one 8 in texture -- while multiple people commented favorably on the contrast in texture provided by the crunchy crust, one judge must have not liked it.
