Howdy Brethren! I've been cooking BBQ for about 35 years. Started out on a gasser, graduated to an offset stick burner, and now have a Primo XL, a medium BGE, and a Lodge Hibatchi. I four-square in the ceramic kamado camp for the last 20+ years.

When I was in grad school I got introduced to ceramic cooking by my next door neighbor, a professor of meat science. He had a large BGE and made some of the most delicious BBQ with seemingly very little effort. I had to get one. Less than 2 months after my BGE hit the patio, I sold my gasser and my stick burner and haven't looked back since! My large BGE got Humptied during a relocation and I replaced it with a medium BGE. That worked well until saw my first Primo XL oval. That was about 7 years ago. My medium BGE is now relegated to kids duty at parties, hamburgers and hotdawgs.

I'm 4 times retired ... I founded, built, and sold 3 businesses and I've left academia for good 5 years ago. If I do anything well besides kamado cooking, it's financial management and business strategy.

Looking forwarding to interacting with you good people!

Here's to great cooks and even better memories with family and friends!
