Hi guys.

I'm Kevin and I'm just here to try and bump my grilling game up a notch. I've always been fairly passionate about cooking and this has been bleeding into a love for BBQ and all Southern Cooking.

Living this far North we have a few more environmental elements to deal with when it comes to grilling, but nothing that a toque and strong resolve can't work around.

I lucked onto a great side rib routine last year and this year I'm looking to test my luck with a wider variety of meats. I smoked a pork butt last week and it was decent, but definitely something I want to improve. I'm also gunning for a solid brisket routine as well as trying some more unorthodox grilling (veggies, fruit etc).

Now for the shameful admission......All I have is a gasser. I know, I don't blame y'all if you stop reading right there as you shake your head in disgust and pity. I don't have the deck space for a proper grill next to my Weber, but I'm remedying that this month with a bigger deck.

Not sure what else you'd care to know? I'm 38 with a lovely wife, a five year old daughter, and a six month old daughter. My wife isn't too crazy about cooking which works out great for both of us. She does everything else around the house so I really don't mind cooking! She is a super audience and she gets near as excited as I do when I stumble onto a keeper recipe.

Good to be here and I look forward to learning a bunch.

Thanks,
Kevin.

Thanks bigdogphin. I spent some time looking into the Prairie Smoke and Spice outfit. I had no idea competitive BBQ was alive and well up here, to be honest.

Thanks for the heads up, Kent. I think I've already been consulting with a friend of yours (Conrad)? He walked me through my first butt.

Can't do the cook out this weekend as I'm committed to my father in law for yard work.

Any idea where a guy can get a Weber lid for an UDS?
