View Full Version : Famous Daves (Maple Grove, MN) BURNT ENDS
I couldnt help myself last night. I decided to go to Famous Daves in Maple Grove, MN and order their new burnt ends. The flavor was ok at best...its what you would expect from FD, but I got about ten 1/2" to 1" pieces in this GIANT box. If you were really hungry, they could have easily been devoured in two bites! Take a look:

Looks like a snack to me. Wonder why the monster sized box?

How much for the snack?

I have never been impressed with Famous Daves, food is over done and mushy.

You do get a lot of pickles though. :thumb:
I would guess, that is the smallest box they have of just one or two sizes.

Not surprising. I went to Famous Dave's once...once. The rubbery, hammy, brisket that had no bark or smoke ring pretty much sealed their fate. Others report they have decent food but it will be a long time before I think I will give it another try.
Don't get me wrong, I wanted to go into FD and not be a snob about what I was ordering. I REALLY, REALLY wanted to give them benefit of the doubt. Granted, the flavor was just ok, but I wouldn't have complained one bit had the portion size been bigger.

I give that box about a three for appearance. :tsk:

I too have been to Famous Daves one time. They go through this big production of explaining all of their sauces. Then they bring your food swimming in sauce. Not sure what the point of the sauce production was supposed to be.
It should have been a sign when I did not see or smell any smoke as we entered the restaurant.
Famous for bad food. I have tried their Devil's Spit sauce once. It was hot.
