Guido and I (BBQ Mafia) are thinking about entering this event for 2013.

Any opinions on the contest in the past? Good size lots? Water? Electric? Any other positives or negatives you care to share about the event?

Thanks in advance.

Great event and lots of fun. Very accommodating staff that go out of their way to please competitors. The only problem is there tends to be a waiting list. Get you application in early. We will be there.

One of the best run contests I've ever been to Sean and the crew go above and beyond to take care of the competitors. Were In.

thanks for the quick responses. I see they do a People's choice saturday night - any info on that? The meats supplied to us (I assume pork)? We hand out from our area or do the organizers hand out from a central location, etc?

Haven't done this one in a year or two, last time we were there, they brought coffee and pastries around to the sites by golf cart on Saturday morning, even after they put out a nice spread. Beautiful location, great people and a really BIG bonfire Friday night. What else would you expect from a group of fireman! :-D.

One of the best comps and we've attended every year since the beginning. I'm sorry to say that we have a conflict this year and are unable to attend. I'm certainly going to miss it this year.

Positives: 35x20 spaces, potable water with closely located hose hookups, reliable power, nice bonfire, friendly staff, generally a well run event

Negatives: ZBQ will be there :becky:

This is our closest contest to home....but regardless, it's wonderfully organized, and a great overall event for all ages.

The only slight negative, could be the walk to turn-ins. But, we can certainly use the work out.
