Its a beautiful sunny day today. Temperature is 26 degrees but it feels like 28. The Bandera is up to 157 degrees and I got 3 racks of baby backs yelling "WE WANT SMOKE, WE WANT SMOKE".
They're gonna get it!!!!!!!!

Enjoy. Seems like a beauty of a day for cooking. I'm re-heating some frozen brisket, a few chickens and some ham for my dad-- yesterday was his birthday. Family's coming over. Always a blast....(note: sarcasm).
Love them and all, but wish I was outside instead....hoist one (or a couple) for me...

I was just thinking about that as I ran up to the grocery storefor a few things and realized it's January and I'm outside in a short sleeved t-shirt. It's only 50* here so far. Got about 10 to 15* yet to climb. Backyard smells awesome! I'm now up to 3 slabs of babybacks, 4 fatties, six country style ribs (helping my daughter learn with those), two briskets (packer and a flat) and a pork butt. This ought to get me back in the Q spirit!

bleh.. it's been too windy here this winter to really do any smoking on my patio.. although my carrots in the garden that were too small to pull have survived the many frost periods.. pulled one the other day and they have gotten big.. will pull em in the spring if they survive..

I sometimes feel for you guys up north. About the only thing that can put a stop for us down here in Sunny FLA is the rain. Even that can be worked around with a little creativeness at times.

It's not that bad JT
I smoke year round.
Grill year round too.
But I was crying today when I had to throw out a 9# boston butt.
Took it out to smoke it, it was in the fridge for a week and 2 days, and the blood leeched out through the bottom (butcher wrapped, not cryo) and seeped into the paper towel and went that went south.
MEat probably was fine, but not taking chances.
