I'm headed from Chicago to Macon Missouri stopping tonight in St. Louis. Any recommendations for barbecue in St. Louis?

I might try Smokehouse Market and Annie Gunns. They are together in the Chesterfield bottoms on I-64/ US 40 at Boone's Crossing. Plenty of reviews on Yelp and other sites.

Can't go wrong with Pappys. Just recently tried Sugar Fire, I was impressed with their brisket and sides.

Bogart's gets good reviews too. Pitmaster Skip Steele is a veteran from Pappy's.

I stopped in columbia at Shotgun Pete's...was really good. Pappy's was a big disappointment for me...ribs wrapped in syran wrap? Brisket tasted like pastrami, which I have found is quite common in St louis/Kansas City...texas style brisket is my preference
