View Full Version : Has anyone taken the Pitbulls up in Smoke online class?
Just like the title asks, has anyone taken the online class?
http://pitbullsbbqschool.com/sign-up/
I'd love to do a class in person, but I have a hard time traveling, due to reasons beyond my control.
This looks like it could be a good way to learn some techniques.
Thanks,
Chad

I have done it. Good class to learn techniques. Danny is helpful in all ways. Alot of the people doing his class are doing well right now.

There have been some teams take the class and do pretty well this past season. Danny is an excellent cook and has done well in GA, which is a tough state, and when he travels outside the state. I like the idea of being able to watch the videos when you want to and review what you want to.
OK, so two yes's so far. Might be getting myself a Christmas present.

I think I was the first to sign up for Danny's class, and I did jump up in scores after taking it, especially in Chicken and Brisket. Overall, the stats of people who have been competing less than a year, who have taken his class are pretty impressive.
- 1 Backyard GC by a 1st year team
- 1 Professional GC by a 1st year team
- 2 180's in Chicken by 1st year teams
- Multiple Top 5's in Individual Categories by first year teams
- Multiple Top 10's in Overall by first year teams

If online classes are your only way to go, I think Pitbulls is definitely the best choice.

Are there other online classes out there?

There is an older class that Chatham Artillery used to have. I'm not sure if it's still available or not.

Can't beat being able to watch the video's over and over. Danny is a good guy
and is number two in the state of ga. I would recommend it, and he also has a cool
injector out, and some crazy rib rub.

One more question for those of you who've taken the class, can you email Danny with questions on the videos and get a response?

I wish other teams would also offer an online class I think it pretty cool.

I haven't taken the class, but I would be the answer to this is a resounding "Yes".

There will be a review of the school in the next issue of Smoke Signals magazine, which I hope will be posted fairly soon.

Danny does a great job in comps. The way he explained it to me, it is not a lifetime membership (for future videos). They will be available for an additional cost. If you have questions email him, he will respond.

I read it yesterday....and so far I agree (based on the one video I watched).
The content is great, but the production is a little off...there was 30-45 seconds of music in the middle of a video that just popped up for no reason and then cut off the same way.
