Just thought I would say Hello. I been smoking for about 10 years. I sold my Lang model 60 deluxe and have a Custom Gator Predator on order. My biggest claim to BBQ fame was 4th place over all at the Md BBQ Bash last August. I also went on a road trip to Texas with The Woodman to pick up his Klose mobil. We went to the Bass Pro Cook Off in Katy Texas and Woody got real drunk truth be told so did I. Anyway Hello:smile:

Welcome! That Predator pit is pretty sharp. What options are you going for, and what made you choose Gator over the Klose? We look forward to cooking with you!

 I have had a chance to cook on some friends Gators and found they were realy well made and well designed. I have also become good friends with Ritch at Gator pits over the past couple of years. The Gator crew realy care about the pits they build and have great customer service. Klose makes a great pit they are just a little overpriced IMHO. Woody has a fine mobil Klose we had a blast picking it up in Texas.

 The Predator I have on order is almost stock I just made a few changes.
1) The Woodrack will be enclosed in 10 mil steel with locking hinged lids. There are 2 storage units one for wood and the other for cook off gear. The only expanded metal on my pit will be the cooking grates.
2) Electric brakes are a great safty feature that gives you better control when towing the pit. Woody's pit towed like a dream on our trip back to Ohio.
3) I had the main pit extended by 6" because I did not want temp probes in the doors of the main chamber. We placed them in the middle of the main chamber between doors. I will be using 8" probes
4) It will have 2 high output burners with the upgraded needle valves for lower temp cooking as well.
5) I had a flag pole mounted to the upright so I can fly the Old Stars and Stripes.
6) I also added a curved flange to the bottom fire grate so when I pull out the grate it acts like a ash rake.
7) Pit and Firebox were upgraded to 3/8 inch pipe free off charge because Ritch got a good price on his last steel order. This is a limited time offer while suplies last.

I realy wanted the fold out roof system but I may have to add that later. It will be garage kept so I realy will only need the roof for cook offs and large catering jobs. I also wanted a insulated firebox but did not want to give up the firebox grill option plus its a costly upgrade. I was also going to add a generator mount but thats what the bed of my pick up is for.

Here is the stock features that come with the Predator.

Predator Specifications and Features: ALL NEW STEEL. Apprx. 7920 sq. cooking inches. 5/16" thick wall x 30" diameter x 60" long double flanged door horizontal cooking area, Four steel framed sliding pull-out food trays, firebox is 1/4" thick wall x 30" diameter x 30" long gas fired for quick lighting of logs, heavy-duty wood grating, top flanged grill door with sliding pull-out food tray, Upright is 1/4" thick wall x 30" x 30" x 36" with four steel framed sliding pull-out food trays, double adjustable smoke stacks, Single front gas burner for boiling and frying, locking propane tank holder, 2" coupler, Heat deflector and adjustable Tuning Shields are standard to provide even temperature cooking in the horizontal food chamber, solid plate front prep table, rear wood storage box, 2" brass gate valve for grease drainage and clean-out, Door counter balances and single rod locking system on doors, 15" wheels, 3500 lbs axle, white wheels, propane hose and regulator (propane tank not included), Stainless Steel cool-touch handles on all doors and stacks, Three Stainless Steel Temperature gauges, Trailer frame heavy 1/4" solid plate and thick 1/4"square tubing all welded (not angle iron or expanded metal like most of our competitors), complete with all wiring and light kit. Hook it up and go. All you need is the truck or SUV. Square firebox is available.

Standard Tuning Plates/Shields for even cooking temperature are adjustable, locking, and removable for easy cleaning.

All food trays are framed in a minimum of 1"" angle for extra strength

 I asked Ritch not send me production pictures of the pit because I want to see it finished. They are starting production this month but I told Ritch if he needed to he could push me back because my house has not sold yet. You see we are moving to Glen Rose Texas as soon as we sell our house.
